Jiva Isvara Aikyam.

HARIH  OM
In  the  creation, we  have  seen  that  Atma  and  Maya  co-exist. . In  the  context  of the  individual (  micro level ) ,  Consciousness  is  given  the  name  Atma  and  the  same  Atma  in the  context  of the  totality(  macro  level ) is  given  the  name  Brahman. . Atma  is  equal  to  Brahman  is  equal  to  Consciousness  as  there  can  be  only  one  infinity  ,one  Consciousness. . Two  names  are  used  because  ,they  are  seen  from  two  different  aspects,  micro  and  macro.

Advaita  Vedanta  talks  about  jivatma  -paramatma- aikyam. . Atma,  the  Consciousness  is  only  one  ,which  expresses  itself  through  the  matter  principle . . When  Consciousness  is  functioning  through the  individual  matter,  the  sharira  trayam  ,  it  gets  the  name  jivatma. and  the  same  Consciousness  functioning  through  the  total  matter,  the  prapancha  trayam ,  it  is  called  Paramatma .  I  am  called  the  jivatma,  when  I  identify  with  my  body-mind complex  and  I,  the  Atma,  am  identifying  with  the  totality,  I  am  Paramatma. . The  waves  are  only  only  parts  of  the  ocean  in terms  of  name  and  form  but  in  respect  to  their  essence  , the  water,  they  are  one  only.  The  reflection  of  Truth  (  Brahman  ) which  identifies  with  the  gross  and  subtle  body  is  called  jiva. . The  jiva  comes  to  believe  the  Lord  (  Isvara )  to  be  essentially  different  from  himself. . The  Atma  conditioned  by  avidya  (  ignorance ) is  called  the  jivatma   and  the  Atma / Brahman   conditioned  by  Maya  is  called  Isvara. . So  long  as  the  conditionings  are  there , the  jivatma  lives  in  samsara,  in  bondage.
